Segantini Path

The Segantini Path begins opposite the Hotel Soldanella, passes behind the Segantini Museum, and ends at the Via Somplaz/Suvretta crossroads. Six picture panels along the way provide all kinds of interesting information about Giovanni Segantini and his works. The walk along the forest path takes approximately 30 minutes.

The Sentiero Segantini offers a unique opportunity to become better acquainted with the artist’s works directly where they were executed. The trail, which was created in 1994, starts at the Casa Segantini (Chalet Kuoni) and the adjoining Segantini Atelier in Maloja and follows a route around Maloja to sites where Segantini worked on his paintings. The approximately two-hour hike is divided into 12 sections, with picture panels explaining the dialogue between the views of the natural landscape and Segantini’s works of art.

For more ambitious hikers, there is a longer and more challenging hiking trail, the Senda Segantini, which also goes to places that have special links with the artist. The trail starts in Savognin and leads in four stages to Bivio, Maloja, Pontresina and finally Samedan.
